N-乙酰胞壁酸 N-acetylmuramic acid 系胞壁酸的N-乙酰衍生物为在细菌细胞壁的胞壁肽聚糖中组成N-乙酰-β-D-萄糖胺基(1→4)-N-乙酞-β-D-胞壁酰(1→4)的双糖重复单位。在胞壁酸的羧基结合有含D-氨基酸的短肽,构成牢固的胞壁质分子的基本骨架。细菌细胞中存在着催化UDP-N-乙酰萄糖胺与磷酸烯醇式丙酮酸缩合的酶,由此生物合成UDP-N-乙酰胞壁酸,继续在需要ATP的一系列的肽合成酶的作用下,首先结合L-丙氨酸,然后逐次结合其他氨基酸。与N-乙酰胞壁酸相连的葡糖苷键可被动物界广泛存在的溶菌酶特异性地切断。
